Musicals, Monologues & Makaton

Empower provides support and development service to adults who are living with a learning disability or have additional support requirements.

Day services where people will be supported to experience learn a variety of independent living skills. The service works in line with the themes of the Keys to life learning Disability Strategy and covers aspects including health, travel, literacy and community inclusion.

Young Scotland's Got Talent

Young Scotland’s Got Talent (YSGT) was set up in 2010 to lobby for better employment support for people with learning disabilities and individuals on the autistic spectrum who want to work. Since then we have delivered over 20 events throughout Scotland. On 29 July we delivered our first online YSGT to honour young people with additional needs who have bee working on the frontline throughout lockdown. We will be featuring throughout the week some of the highlights from the event.

Calum Ingram

Calum has played the cello from age nine, developing a unique approach by intertwining his strings. Influenced by Peter Gabriel, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Jack White, and John Martyn, he’s a prolific composer and performer. Credits include; off-Broadway Show Devision Avenue, Best Sound Design  - The Midtown International Theatre Festival, New York City, headlined Scotland’s Wicker Man Festival acoustic main stage, headlined Oxfam’s Glasgow Oxfam Festival, Cream’s Jack Bruce celebratory concert alongside Mick Taylor, Steve Hackett, Bernie Marsden Lulu and Eddi Reader, duetted with The Police’s Stewart Copeland on Sky Arts TV series “Tony Visconti’s “Unsigned Heroes”, France’s Blues Autour Du Zinc Festival, collaborated with Vieux Farka Tore, the Ronstadt Brothers, Jasmine Rodgers, supported Jack Bruce and American reggae superstars Soja. His debut album was nominated for Best Album and for the Kevin Thorpe Award at the British Blues Awards in 2014.  In 2019 Calum appeared in a video performing “Imagine” that was showcased on John Lennon’s social media platforms to help raise awareness for five charities.  “Music is a powerful thing that can heal and bring people together lifting their spirits,” says Calum. I’ve seen this first-hand while working with “Musicians in Exile,” a group that helps asylum seekers and refugees. It is great to give back.”

Rachelle Rhienne

Rachelle Rhienne is a singer, songwriter, pianist and recording artist from a small village near Loch Lomond in Scotland. Rachelle pens her own original music and also collaborates with UK, US and international producers to write big powerful ballads and uptempo, catchy Pop tracks. She is heavily influenced by Soul and RnB music and incorporates this style into her music.  She has caught the interest of producers and labels in LA, London, Sweden, Spain and Germany and recently flew out to LA to meet top producer Jud Friedman (Whitney Houston.) She has worked with Kylie Minogue's producers in London and Liam Payne's producer on her single "M2M" and "Contigo."  Rachelle has plans to release new music in 2020 and will be focusing on continuing to build her fanbase and plan future tours.

Soul Food Sisters

Soul Food Sisters is a group of migrant women based in the East of Glasgow and together they’re creating a vibrant, female-led collective based around their favourite thing: food!

By swapping recipes, ideas and skills, they’re making women’s lives brighter. Their not-for-profit organisation brings together women from all over the world, ending social isolation and empowering them to develop their talents- in the kitchen and beyond.
