Michael Byrne is the founder and MD of "Lived Experience Trauma Support". He has vast lived experience of surviving multiple incredible life events including the murder of his father and surviving The Clutha Disaster in Glasgow in 2013.

Bill Scott is chair of the Poverty and Inequality Commission which was established from 1 July 2019. It is an advisory non-departmental public body which provides independent advice and scrutiny to Scottish Ministers on poverty and inequality.

Katie Kittermaster

Katie Kittermaster is a British singer/ songwriter who has haunting and distinctive vocals. Her natural story-telling is powerful and relatable. Her music has an honesty & conversational tone that steals your attention. Katie signed to Revanche Records June 2020

The Chosen Loney

6.00 pm

The Chosen Lonely blends a variety of genres, to create what he calls ‘Indiephoria’.  Hailing originally from the Highlands of Scotland, Steven cites influences ranging from Moby right through to The Ronettes.  Since the release of his debut EP in February 2020, TCL has received support from the likes of Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing, with the latter featuring him as their Record of the Week on national radio.

Kings of Birds

King Of Birds is a Scottish Americana band hailing from Elderslie near Glasgow. Band members include brothers Charlie Gorman and Stirling Gorman.  The band released their debut album, 'Eve of Destruction', on Valuable Recordings in September 2019

Nigel Clark

Nigel Clark from Dodgy (Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist and Producer), has been the front man of Dodgy since their beginning in London 1990. Achieving 6 top 20 ‘s including, Staying out for the summer, In a room, So let me go far and Good Enough.

Emma Nailen

Emma Nailen and The Third Wheel. are a Scottish based rock, blues, band who have blown away venues all over scotland! Gigging together now for over ten years, these pair know exactly how to put a show on!  Emma Nailen is lead vocals and rythym Guitar and Jason Ure is lead guitarist

Jessica Lee Morgan

1.30 pm

Jessica was raised on rock and folk by legendary parents (Mary Hopkin and Tony Visconti) and writes songs that reflect her upbringing and jobs in the real world. She plays 12-string, saxophone, percussion and vocals in the Bowie supergroup Holy Holy with her father Tony Visconti and Spiders from Mars drummer Woody Woodmansey.  As happy in a tiny club or a large theatre, she performs live with her acoustic guitar, percussion strapped to her army boots, and partner Christian Thomas on bass.

Mutual Aid: a vision of 21st Century Citizenship

As we look to a post-pandemic future, more and more local authorities are getting behind the idea of a Universal Basic Income. The case is stronger than ever, argues Simon Duffy, not only for creating a more egalitarian society, but in freeing people up to play a greater part in local life and decision making.

Malcolm Bruce

Composer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Malcolm Bruce has toured, performed, recorded and appeared on records with some of the biggest names in music including Little Richard, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Dr John, Steve Cropper, Joe Satriani, Joe Bonamassa, Bill Ward and Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath), Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who, Jeff Beck), Leslie West and Corky Laing (Mountain), Tony Butler and Mark Brzezicki (Big Country) and his father the late Jack Bruce of Cream.  Malcolm continues to compose orchestral music and his first opera ‘King You’s Folly’ is to premiere at Sadler’s Well’s in 2022.

Get2gether believes that everyone has the right to love and friendship. They also believe that people meeting each other should be easy, fun and accessible. That’s why it arranges social activities for people with disabilities in safe and friendly places in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

What Does Covid-19 Tell Us About Citizenship

Another chance to hear Donald Macaskill (CEO, Scottish Care) and Simon Duffy (Director, Centre for Welfare Reform) share and debate their unique perspectives on the pandemic and its impacts on those who traditionally rely on social care.

Stay Up Late Scotland - DJ Takeover

8.30 pm til late.......

End the amazing week of Citizenfest activity in style with the international Stay Up Late DJ takeover on zoom.  We will start in Finland at 8.30pm with DJ Riku, end in Los Angeles, California with DJ Dominique.  In between hear some great tunes from 5 different DJ’s from Scotland who will share some of their favourite music and get you dancing along the way, as well as making new friends. 

It’s like a party in a festival to say a fond farewell to Citizenfest 2020!

Be warned.  You may need to stay up late!
