Manakinz, established in November 2018, are Harri (Sub Club/Subculture) and Affi Koman (Sunday Circus). Harri is synonymous with Glasgow’s electronic music scene. His record breaking 29-year residency at the Sub Club was the foundation for the venue’s growth into one of the UK’s premier clubs. Affi Koman started DJing in Glasgow clubs in 2006 with a residency at the Liquid Lounge, soon becoming resident at Sunday Circus in 2007 which lasted 9 years.
BRASS TRAXX, a 23 year old DJ and aspiring Producer split between the Glasgow and Greater London areas. Born in the late nighties, like most Glaswegians electronic music lovers, he graduated on the Glasgow circuit attending nights at institutions such as the Sub club and la cheetah. His DJ style is a blend between deep and hypnotic grooves with rolling percussive techno. BRASS TRAXX has also been heavily influenced by the work of legendary Producer Oscar Mulero.
3SBAT is an Italian DJ and music producer, based in Glasgow. Savvy user of dark drones, low frequencies, heavy kick drums and distorted noises. 3SBAT delivers a transcendent connection and reconnection of the body-mind experience, through Ritual Techno as a sound healing practise. Similarly, to shamanic rituals, Ritual Techno generates a subterranean introspection, where Dark Ambient drones, haunted noises, and raw punchy Industrial soundscapes are all meticulously stitched together.
John McDevitt, aka Def Beatz, Most of us have seen the film 'It's all gone Pete Tong' and overall enjoyed it, that's right, John is a deaf DJ and is sometimes refereed to as the real Frankie Wilde. This rare Scottish breed grew up profoundly deaf and with specially designed hearing aids went on to study music at college. This lead to eventually going out on the rave scene, standing right in front of the system to feel the vibrations, he was hooked on that buzz and the next step was mixing..
In an age increasingly dominated by machine-created sounds, DJ-Producer Rebecca Vasmant is bringing a fresh new twist to dance music with her love of jazz. Rebecca is a passionate record collector and her knowledge exceeds her time as a "digger". While promoting her own parties and record fair in Glasgow and touring over the last five years, her whirlwind schedule has fitted in a six month tour with eight-strong Ghanaian outfit Kakatsitsi and her monthly radio show on Worldwide FM.
